How to install spherical roller bearings and what should you pay attention to during installation?

Whether the spherical roller bearings are installed correctly affects accuracy, life and performance. Therefore, the design and assembly department must fully study the installation of spherical roller bearings. Installation must be carried out in accordance with work standards. Follow the bearing manufacturer to learn how to quickly install bearings.

(1) Check the size and finishing of related components;

(2) Press installation;

(3) Supply lubricant.

(4) Clean bearings and bearing-related parts;

(5) Inspection after installing the bearing.

Bearing manufacturers recommend unpacking spherical roller bearings just before installation. Lubricating oil lubrication generally does not require cleaning, but if bearings are used for instruments or high speeds, they must be washed with clean oil to remove the anti-rust agent coated on the bearings. General grease lubrication, no cleaning, directly filled with grease. Furthermore, bearings that have been filled with grease can be used directly without cleaning. Bearings with the anti-rust agent removed are prone to rust, so they cannot be left alone. When installed into the shell, there is generally a lot of clearance fit and there is interference in the outer ring. It is usually pressed in with a press, or there is also a shrink fit method of installing after cooling. When dry ice is used as the coolant and shrink fit is installed, moisture in the air will condense on the surface of the thrust spherical roller bearing. Therefore, appropriate rust prevention measures are required.

After continuing to run and entering the later period of use, the vibration and noise of the spherical roller bearing begin to increase, and sometimes abnormal noise occurs, but the increase in vibration changes slowly. At this time, the kurtosis value of the bearing begins to suddenly reach a certain value. We believe that the bearing will show initial failure at this time.

At this time, it is required to closely monitor the spherical roller bearing and pay close attention to its changes. After that, the bearing kurtosis value began to decrease rapidly and approached the normal value, while the vibration and noise began to increase significantly, and the increase began to accelerate. When the vibration exceeded the vibration standard (such as the ISO2372 standard), the bearing kurtosis value also began to increase. Rapidly increasing, when both the vibration standard and the kurtosis value exceed the normal value (the available kurtosis relative standard), we believe that the bearing has entered an advanced stage of failure, and the equipment needs to be repaired and the bearing replaced in time.

The time from a bearing showing late failure characteristics to a serious failure (usually bearing damage such as shaft holding, burns, sand rack spalling, raceway, bead wear, etc.) usually does not exceed one week. The larger the equipment capacity, the faster the rotation speed, and the other The shorter the interval. Therefore, in actual bearing fault diagnosis, once late-stage fault characteristics are discovered, the spherical roller bearing should be decisively judged to be faulty and maintenance should be arranged as soon as possible.
